About Dino Run

An endless runner: your character runs automatically and you control only one thing — when to jump. Obstacles arrive faster as the run goes on, so the game measures how long you can keep making a single decision correctly.

How it is played

Press space, the up arrow, or tap to jump; some versions let you duck. The character's speed increases steadily, which means the gap between seeing an obstacle and needing to act keeps shrinking. There is no end — the score is simply the distance you survive.

Jump late, not early. The instinct is to jump as soon as you see something, but an early jump lands you in front of the obstacle at speed. Pick a fixed landmark on screen and jump when the obstacle crosses it; a consistent trigger point beats reacting to each obstacle afresh.

Why do I fail at the same speed every time?

Because at a certain velocity the obstacle enters your reaction window later than about 250 ms before impact, and simple reaction time cannot go much below that. Past that point survival comes from pattern anticipation rather than reaction — you jump because you know the spacing, not because you saw it.

Are the obstacles random?

Spacing is randomised within limits, but the limits are what make the game playable: obstacles never appear closer than a jump can clear. Runs feel unfair mainly when a cluster arrives at a speed step-up.
