About Astrology Calculator
Enter a birth date, time and place to see the astrological chart basics traditionally derived from them: sun sign, and where the time and place matter, the moon sign and rising sign.
Why time and place are asked for
The sun sign depends only on the date, which is why it is the one most people know. The rising sign — the zodiac sign on the eastern horizon at the moment of birth — changes roughly every two hours and depends on the exact time and geographic location. The moon sign changes every two to three days. A chart built without a birth time can give the sun sign confidently and the rest only approximately.
Is there evidence astrology predicts personality?
No. Controlled studies have consistently found no relationship between birth chart and personality or life outcome. The best-known test — Shawn Carlson's double-blind study published in Nature in 1985 — found astrologers could not match charts to personality profiles better than chance. This tool presents a tradition, not a measurement.
Why does my chart feel accurate anyway?
Because chart readings are written broadly enough to fit most people, a tendency known as the Barnum effect, and because knowing a description makes you notice matching behaviour and discount the rest. Enjoy it as a framework for reflection; do not use it for decisions about health, money or relationships.
