How traditional compatibility is derived
Classical astrology groups the twelve signs into four elements (fire, earth, air, water) and three modalities (cardinal, fixed, mutable). Signs sharing an element are considered harmonious; signs 90° apart (square) are read as tense, 120° apart (trine) as easy, and 180° apart (opposition) as complementary but polarised. The reading here follows those established rules.
Is there scientific evidence for this?
No. Controlled studies have repeatedly found no relationship between birth sign and personality, and none between sign pairings and relationship outcomes. The most cited test — Carlson's 1985 double-blind study published in Nature — found astrologers performed at chance. This tool presents the tradition, not a finding.
So why do the readings feel true?
Because they are written broadly enough to fit many people, and because knowing your sign's description can nudge you to notice matching behaviour and overlook the rest. Enjoy it as a lens for talking about a relationship — the conversation it prompts is often more useful than the verdict.
