About Image Resizer
Resize an image to exact pixel dimensions and export it as PNG, JPG or WebP. Everything happens in your browser — the file is never uploaded, which matters when the image is a document, a screenshot or a photo of a person.
Dimensions, quality and format
Set a width and height, or lock the aspect ratio and set one so the other follows. Keeping the ratio prevents the stretching that makes faces and logos look wrong. The quality slider applies to JPG and WebP only — PNG is lossless and ignores it. Enlarging beyond the original size cannot add detail; it interpolates, so upscaling a small image produces a soft result.
Which format should I pick?
WebP for the web — typically 25–35% smaller than JPG at matching quality, and supported by every current browser. JPG when something old must open it. PNG only when you need transparency or pixel-exact graphics like screenshots of text, where JPG's compression smears the edges.
Why did my file get bigger?
Usually because a photograph was exported as PNG. PNG stores every pixel losslessly, which is efficient for flat graphics and wasteful for photographs — the same image can be several times larger than a JPG nobody could tell apart. Match the format to the content, not to habit.
