About Brand Segment Checker
Look up where a brand sits in the market hierarchy โ mass, premium, luxury or ultra-luxury โ across perfume, watches and clothing. Useful when a name is familiar but its positioning is not.
How the tiers are usually defined
Segmentation is about positioning rather than price alone. Mass market competes on availability and value. Premium adds design, materials and brand story at a noticeable step up. Luxury restricts distribution deliberately and prices for exclusivity rather than cost. Ultra-luxury adds craftsmanship, scarcity and often bespoke production, where waiting lists are part of the proposition.
Why do brands sit in different tiers in different categories?
Because a fashion house can license its name for fragrance at mass-market price points while its clothing stays luxury. That licensed perfume is genuinely a different segment from the runway line, sold through different channels to a different buyer. The name on the bottle does not carry the segment with it.
How reliable is a classification like this?
Treat it as a general guide. Segmentation is a marketing judgement, not a standard, and brands actively reposition โ moving upmarket by cutting distribution, or downmarket through diffusion lines and outlet channels. Any listing reflects a moment rather than a fixed fact.
