About Windows Update Simulator
Displays a full-screen imitation of the Windows update screen, in Windows 10 or Windows 11 style, with a progress percentage that advances on its own. It is a visual prop — nothing is installed, downloaded or changed on your computer.
What it actually is
A web page drawing a familiar screen. It has no access to your system, cannot install or block anything, and closing the tab ends it immediately. Press Escape or F11 to leave full screen if the browser has hidden its controls.
Will this affect my computer?
No. A browser page cannot modify Windows, install updates or prevent a shutdown. The progress number is animated, not measured — it counts up regardless of what your machine is doing, and it will happily sit at 99% forever.
A note on using it as a prank
Keep it light and brief. Convincing someone their machine is mid-update can genuinely cost them work — people wait, postpone shutting down, or miss something while the screen is occupied. Do not use it on a shared or work computer, on anyone's machine during a deadline, or in any way that would leave someone stuck.
